Alrighty guys. I'm not sure if this has been covered yet, but all I found was stuff on using the translator.

I was thinking about cutting and extending the wires from the translator to the 2 plugs: the GM MAF plug, and the stock MAF plug.

The slowboy extention is not long enough for me since I want to place the translator in my center console.

Can I just cut the wires and solder on longer wires to place my translator where I want to, or are there some horrific ill effects that will plague me?

I think they sell the extensions, I have one with my translator gen two and I ran the wires through the shifter linkages and through the center console. Look on dejontool.

I just cut my wires and soldered then shrinkwrapped them. Added like 2 feet with 18 gauge wire i had laying around. now the translator sits inside the car.... used some more wireloom to give the longer wires the stock look. looks good imo.
