Trying to picture what your thinking, because the the part thats touching is the part that the bolt head presses against when threaded into the water outlet. Not to mention the bolt head itself sticks out just as far as the housing does. That would not hold "just as good" it might and key word might hold yes, but not just as good. Misinformation to say the least.
Dents are like cheater cuts, they kind of defeat the purpose.
