Bought car for cheap making it my track only car. It has problem. Its auto and when you put it in gear the driveshaft spins but car don't move.It made bad noise from rear right and upon inspection axle seems lose you can basically pull it out of the rear diff. So maybe its broke a clip or something or mabye its pooched. Fine think axles are fairly cheap. But why can't the front move it..this is awd not rwd. If the back axle is broke or unclipped or something what would be with the front. Could improper towing burn out the viscous would the front turn after that? What are the odds of messed up front axle too?
Ideas there guys..do I have to open the rear diff to reinstall back axle?

You shouldn't have to open the rear diff to install the axle, unless it broke and pieces are inside the diff case. The first thing I would do is remove that axle and inspect it.

I dont think any pieces are inside the case. So just undo the three bolts and it should come out .its loose now I can almost pull it out. Is there a clip or something that holds it in there?
And why would the front wheels not move the car in an awd if the back axle breakes or comes out of the rear diff? is there likely a problem with the front also?
