all of a sudden, iv'e noticed that I cant idle my 06 Grand Caravan or my 04 Buick Century over 3000 rpms. Both are gased at the same station. They seem to drive ok on the street though.
Is this water in the gas, or is it as one person told me, a way the manufacture prevents you from high idling your engine. I never heard of that, Im driving over 41 years now. I have an appointment with the Dodge dealer. Should I keep it. At this time I'm letting my cars run on the drive way , to be filled with fresh gas when the run down. Adding dry gas hasn't changed anything. Help please.

WTF ummm.... before this gets locked because my money's on it will why are you trying to rev your caravan over 3k at idle?

actually I was in the process of warming up the van, and thought accelerating the engine speed would warm it up faster.

If you want to warm an engine with a high idle speed, you're bypassing the whole (misbegotten) reason to warm and engine- and that is to get the oil up to temperatures where it's strengths are greatest.
Just drive. No more than half-load nor half-throttle until the temp gauge is half-way to normal.

And no, this is not a symptom of water in your gasoline.

kind of odd that both cars are acting the same, and the only thing in common is the gas?

in any event I took the Buick to the repair shop this afternnon. I'll know tomorro what the problem is. Will post the diagnoses. Thanks

Problem solved. My service station just called to tell me my problem reall isn't a problem. Can you say REV LIMITER?
Thats all it was, who knew? I didn't.
My Dodge dealer confirmed it on my 06 Grand Caravan.
Thank for the advice any way guys. OMG
