Two Questions

First of all in my 4k rpm range, why does my timing drop off so much? And thats right around the rpm that my power lags at because when i go full throttle i have little power until i hit my full 21PSI then i get a fat power boost. Im starting to think it could be my timing getting pulled out like shown. True? What can i do to fix that?

Second to some of you experienced tuners. What would you do with this log? Im tuning with an SAFC.

Mod List :dsm:

I'm guessing you are talking about the timing drop from 3.5k to about 4.2k? If so, that is normal. Feeling a noticable lag in that area is not, so there may be a problem there. From that point it should rise steadily all the way to redline. It looks like you are leaning out pretty bad up top....from about 4.8k up. You IDC looks fine, so it could be your tune, dirty fuel filter, incorrect plug gap, etc.

A couple of things:

1.) Have you checked your plug gap? It should be 0.028".
2.) Leak check?
3.) Did you verify that your TPS reads >95% at WOT on the logger, not on the SAFC.

Also, if you could post up your TPS trigger points, Ne points and corresponding correction factors that would help. :thumb:

my tps trigger points are 69%-70%
my points are 1k 2k 3k 4k 4.5k 5k 6k 7k

ill get my correction factors tomorrow when i post my newest log. i got rid of the knock and got my timing up to around 15 counts average but still my power loss threw like 5k and under

As stated by Nathan your timing is supposed to drop down when you hit full boost.

Your to lean and thats causing you to knock alot up top which is resulting in terrible timing.

Try adding 5% from 5k on up and see if that cures the knock.

yea LOL thats exactly what i did and i got rid of the knock but idk why im loosing timing in my mid range is that normal for the stock timing maps?

and what would be the cause of me not getting much power until i hit full boost?
iv done a boost leak and fixed my leaks. cause this lag of power is recently been happening. like since i started tuning myself but i dont know if its mechanical and not my tune.

i have another question too. on my WOT runs should my fuel trim be at 135%? or 100% if so on the 100 how do i fix that i read the faq on it and it was a little confusing so if someone could explain that

thanks.

Yes its normal not to have any power until boost hits...this is called Lag. :thumb:

Only worry about your Fuel Trims at Idle and Cruise, there not used for WOT.

ya i know what boost lag is and its not like this...if fell verrry little power until i hit my full 21psi not gradual increase of power like it should be....i get alittle increase of power then when i hit 21 i pull HARD

and when im shifting...lets say im in second WOT and shift to 3rd at like 6k my power drops again until i hit 21psi.
