Well i have this squeecking noise from the driver side. It occures during turning of the wheels and sometimes when i hit potholes ect. I first though it was the powersteering belt so i realigned it, trying to get it right... and nothing. Finally i just cut the PS off completly and the noise is still here and it is only on the driver side where the wheel is.

Will do as soon as i get home, could it also be the lower control arm needs grease.

That sound that comes from dry ball joints is often described as a "creaking" sound, like rusty hinges on an old door. The sound coming from belts or the balancer pulley would be more of a "squealing" sound.

Any chance it could be your hubs? They can squeak if they are going out or need to be packed.

Ball joints yes, could be. But I found that the sway bar makes an awful squeak when they get old. If you havent already changed over to prothanes, you should. The sway bar has two rubber grommets that can be changed, and youll love the difference it makes in how the car handles. If you cant afford to change over, then try some WD-40 on them. that will make the noise go away, temperarly.
And I would put that belt back on. It makes it a bi*** to turn fast without it.
mike.
