Regina,
Hey. I guess I should introduce myself first here, my name is Steven, I am 17, and I live in Regina, SK, Canada. I own a 1990 240sx, and I just bought a 1992 Eagle Talon TSi AWD today. I am having a couple problems with it though.

I bought the car at an auction to use as a winter vehicle. I took it for a little cruise after I bought it, and I started to loose oil pressure. I stopped at a stop light and I could notice some smoke seeping through the drivers side crack. I took the car to a parking lot and popped the hood. The smoke was coming from the rear of the engine. I took a look underneath to see if I could see where the leak was, and the whole drivers underside was covered in oil. I can't pinpoint right now where the leak is coming from, all I know is it is somewhere underneath near the oil filter. The top of the filter is clean, but there is some oil that was dripping in small amounts off the bottom.

I checked the oil filter to see if it was loose, it wasnt. I am hoping that maybe there is just an oil line off or something that is spitting oil. Or maybe the old gasket ws left on when the filter was changed and now there is oil leaking from there.

Another thing that I noticed is that whenever I clutch in and brake, the car stall. Doesnt matter how fast I am going. I am hoping maybe just a tune up will fix this.

SO anyways, hopefully you guys could throw some suggestions at me here. You are the experts and I dont know a thing about DSM.

Sounds like your oil filter housing may have backed out a bit. If not wipe it all down or try and pressure wash it clean and see where it leaks from.

if they just did an oil change on it, it's possible that when they changed the oil filter, the old o-ring stayed on the filter housing and then when they put the new one on there, it made the old one move and caused it to leak. I've done that before on my civic. made me start inspecting the filter housing for the old o-ring before putting a new one on from there on out. took FOREVER to get that mess cleaned up.

Are venting your bov ? or does the clutch in and brake make it stall even when stopped ?

It will stall even when I am stopped. It doesnt seem to idle at a high enough RPM.

COuld the oil possibly be from an oil line? Maybe the one going to the turbo or something?

Alright, so I was checking out my car today, and although, right now, the engine oil is full I still and showing no oil pressure, and the oil warning light is on. I need to take my car to the school shop which is maybe a mile away but I dont really trust driving it with no oil pressure. I am not sure why I am not showing any oil when it is topped up. Also, there is no oil leaking when the car is off, I dont know if that changes anything.

Also, I was wondering if my idle problem is maybe related to the PCV or the ISC? I have heard to check the resistance of the ISC to see if its bad. You are supposed to so this once the car has warmed up, but again, I dont want to be running the engine with no oil pressure.

Thanks for any advice you may have.
