I've never liked to use oil for the simple fact that most things involving cars takes longer than first anticipated. Especially the build up of an engine. To me the oil is just too thin and over time will just drain off. Granted there will still be a film on the surface, but it will just be too thin of a coating if delays are incurred.

I would just go down to the local parts store and pick up some assembly lube, they're all about the same, it's just something that's a bit thicker and will cling to the bearings better during initial startup than oil will.
