Hey guys whats up. Just wanted to give my review of the datalogger I got off an ebay auction about 2 months ago.

I recieved the package about 3 days after the auction ended. This guy is fast. Packaging and all that was good. Came with the dock, cable to computer, cable to car, cd, instructions and of course the Pocket PC.

First off i got the color screen one for no other reason than it looked cool. The same guy sells the non color version for about 60-70 bucks. Anyway the actual hand held computer is a Palm IIIC. Very easy to upload logs (there is a post somewhere on here that will give you the link to a program that turns your logs into exell so you can have full graphs) not to mention downloading games :p . The cable that attatches form the Palm to the diagnostic port was in good shape and is a breeze to install. The datalogging software it came with is MMCD. IMO this is the best software to use on Palms. The features are endless as you can add more sensors if you know what your doing. Also this thing clears and diagnosis CELs (check engine lights) Worked great on my car and it only takes 2 seconds. Go to the link to see all the features. One draw back, which is inevitable is that 2gers cant see knock, not much you can do about it but its not my problem. ;)

I picked up a cable (also from ebay)
This nifty thing let me datalogg without using the dock (yes you have to have the Palm in the dock to datalog) and charge my batteries at the same time. That being said since I have a 1g, and there is a weird little compartment right between the shiter and the raidio. well it turns out that the palm fits perfectly in there like it was made for it. wish i had a pic but its awesome. After that I simply drilled a hole in the bottom of the compartment, ran the wire up to the palm and now i am constantly charging and logging in my car without a dock and in a perfect viewing position to boot.

As for actual logging the thing is awesome. It spits out color graphs for as many paramaters as you want while your driving, very cool. I usually graph rpm, timing, o2 and injector duty. I also have two alarms on, one on rpms if it reaches 6000 and one on knock if it is greater than zero. Only problem is its hard to hear the alarms because if I am at 6000 rpms the engine is frikin loud.

Bottum line this is a great deal and I recommend it to everyone. Seriously. If you dont have a method of seeing whats going on in your car pick this up immediatly, especially you 1gers - this package was made for you!

sorry for the long post hope this was helpful. :thumb:

Just got mine working today too. It's awesome! Anyone know what the other sensor codes are?

Well i forgot to pay for mine, so I havn't recieved it yet. Should be here soon though. Maybe tommorow~! :D

does anyone have that same program that will work with the 2g. i have p something stein the program itself sucks. and is very hard to use so any other programs would help. t

thanks dan

After reading your review I bought the same setup color screen palm as well. I like the palm as my wife uses it as well. My own question is how do you get it to display the error codes. I can only get it to log and graph. How do I use MMCD to pull codes? I do not have the Test function when I use my version of MMCD.

Thanks
