Well, I'm in the process of trying to tune my new T04b V-trim. I am currently using a Hahn SMIC. Therefore, I'm not sure if I'm getting knock due to the intercooler, or whether I just need to add a lot more fuel to keep my A/F ratios in line.

Here is a log that I did today. My first attempt at a log I was getting excessive knock once I got over about 5000 rpm so a shut it down. So on the second run (shown below) I added roughly 10% more fuel starting at 4000 rpm and 15% more fuel from about 5000 rpm up to 7000 rpm. However, I still started to knock at around 5500 rpm and knock slowly increased until redline.

Do you think I should just bump the fuel up some more...or do you think that the SMIC may not be able to cool the higher airflow? When I did bump up the fuel after my first try...I was able to go to redline with between 5 and 10 counts of knock. Is that too much knock--or should I be trying to tune to zero knock? Thanks in advance for your constructive comments!

I would like to see what your O2 's are at. But from what I can see you could use some more timing near redline. The ECU likes 17 degrees. Maybe add some more fuel up there and your timing might come back. Stay below 5 counts of knock if you can, after that the ECU will pull serious timing.

Yes o2's and not airflow, and in the last log you posted in the other thread there was no knock...

Actually, I think you may be on to something... What happened was, when I first had the new turbo installed I knew that it would be flowing a lot more air so I adjusted the SAFC to add a lot of fuel all of the way down the line as a starting point. The last log I posted in the other thread was using the SAFC settings with lots of extra fuel...I did start to see some knock starting at the end of the run (it just didn't show up as a decrease in timing because I was at the end of the run)...

Because I generally wasn't seeing knock during driving for a few days...I took out some fuel...only adding 5% at about 4000 rpms up to a max of about 10% at about 6000 rpms. But when I tried to take my first log....I was seeing knock starting at a lower rpm...

I guess that I will just add more fuel starting at 4000 rpm and add progressively more up to >7000 rpms...and see if that takes care of it.... I guess it just seems funny having to ADD fuel...when with the Big28 I was taking out 15% in really cold weather and was still taking out 5% in the warmest weather... (Note: I have Keydiver chip to compenstate for 650cc injectors...so when I"m adding fuel...it's on top of a slightly rich setting to begin with)...

Thanks for pointing that out though...

I stepped up from an Evo3 16g to a to4e 50 trim over the winter and I thought I would for sure have to add fuel but when I wen't out tunning my settings unded up being the same.
