Has anyone ever put an EVO timing belt on their 1g or 2g? I would think it would fit fine. And also considering that the EVO has more power from the factory maybe the belt would be more durable than the ones for 1st gens?

By the way Im away of that $154.00 kevlar lining high performance belt floating around here.

I am not trying to criticize you, but I have been wondering this for a while:

Why do people stress the durability of the T-belt so much?

I mean if you balance shaft hardware fails, the belt is going to skip a tooth or worse - right?

Has anyone had timing belt failure due to a belt that frayed or deteriorated?

Yes and no... I have heard of T-belts failing, it rarely ever happens. So don't get me wrong... its kinda like better be safe than sorry.

The whole reason for me posting this question is because of a timing belt failure. My timing belt has gone out TWICE since I've owned my Talon. And yes it jumps timing when the belt deriorates. Never have I had an issue with balance shaft belts or bearings.
