i have recently started to build another engine for my car  this seemed good on paper when i was writing up a budget ;) but as most of you know it never go accoriding to plans we end up spending more money than we should have :shhh: but know i need some advice on completing my set up. just to bring you up to speed on where i am here is a list of things done already.

brand new evo III 16g ported only
264 in 264 ex cams
3" gm mas and translator
550cc injectors
2.5 custom turbo back exhuast with high flow cat (press bent)
supporting guages and datalogging equipement
super afc
stage 2 ported head standard size valves ,stock intake, sodium filled evo VIII ex valves
crower spring titanium retainers

my bottom end is a stock 6 bolt 130k what should i do to it? recommendations? my plans was to leave it stock put new 1g pistons and rings in it, new rod bearings, front seal, rear main seal and leave the bs in it! what do you think! my goal as far as hp is 300 to 325 range that is it nothing more nothing less :) should i get a fmic or just some ic piping with stock side mount?

should i do a complete build with forged internal? is this necessary! i would really like to keep my 1g pistons if all possible! hell i use to give advise to people all the time that has asked this question a 1000 times but now that i am confronted with this decision to do and not to do is a mofo if you know what i mean! sometimes because of finaces we just need to bounce things off of each other thanks guys ;)

if 300 to 325 is your goal then there is no reason to do anything to you block if it is in working order.. I ran the evoIII on a stock motoe and put out 309 to the wheels (fwd). but since you have done some head work you should be able to reach that with not problem

Ditch the stock sidemount you might be able to make 325 WHP on an Upgraded sidemount
but i'd say go for the FMIC just in case you ever decide you want to make more

you can use a supra sidmont its a cheaper alternative to a fmic if your on a budget... and i have personally seen it handle a 50trim running 18psi daily.. no heat soak. i mean eventually a smic will heat soak..

If you did a compression test and you're of average, then you won't have to put new rings and such on. But if you didn't do average, then that might be something to look at. :thumb:

thanks for info!! well here is what i have done. i went ahead and broke down the block and honed it! i also purchased a set of 2g pistons and will have them fitted to 1g rods. i will next purchase some king rod and main bearings. i also have an ajusa gasket set! the crank will be cleaned and balanced! bs removed, new water pump also new oil pump! last but not least  assemble

take your time assembling it can be tedious and dont #### it up.. LOL good luck man
