Toronto,
Just wanted to know what are some pro/cons of running a thick HG or a thin one?
How would i know what "thickness" of head gasket to get and what does it depend on?

Wow, talk about a question that can generate a lot of opinions. :)

Changing the headgasket thickness can be done for several reasons. The most common is to correct for having the head or block decked after a rebuild. The idea here is to maintain the factory spec on valve timing.

Another reason to change headgasket thickness is to raise or lower the static compression of the engine. The cam timing is then corrected by using adjustable cam gears and degreeing the cams.
