ok well my bud got a 1g 93 talon tsi awd. has big 16g, 550 cc injector, fuel pump and shit. workd good for the week and we pulld it into the garage and when we wehre done it didnt start. so today we did a full compression test... all but cylinder 3 was fine. cylinder 3 was at 90 and the rest where 150. we checked spark and wires and all where fine too.we even tried new ignition coil, plugs and wires and still didnt work. so we dont know why this wont start. teh car came with some kind of FRP so we cant find the shradder valve to test the fuel pressure. does anyone have any ideas why it wont. it cranks and everything but will not start up.so it has to be somethin with fuel we think. it was going to go to the shop today for all new belts. my one friend said maybe the belt jumpd but it all looks lined up. please post any ideas on what to check and everything. thanks a bunch.

My car is all stock, but I had the same problem. Pulled it into my parking spot and next day, it wont start. I bet I will get flamed for not doing this right and all but, I just turned the key and pumped the gas for about 45 seconds and it SLOWLY started up. Throttle got stuck when it started because it was to the floor LOL, so i turned it off. But I made sure i checked all the plugs for spark and the timing and stuff.

we checkkd the mpi cause w pulld that when we did the compression test. me and buds think its something to do with fuel. my one bud said since we had steam cleaned the engine we make have like fried the CAS? is that a possibility? we tried fuel pedal thing all way.... had smeone under the hood pull the throttle lever and everything. we checkd over everythin! thanks guys

the car isnt throwing a code? I guess it wouldnt since it wont start. Try replacing the cas then, you might be on to something. But the cas doesnt have anything to do with fuel, timing yes. The MPI relay has everything to do with fuel. Do you smell gas when trying to start? If you do I wouldnt be worried cause you got some :D . The cas is a pretty temprimental unit. Thats why I wont ever power wash my motor. Try the cas and then let us know.

ok the place its at is gonna do all the belts first like they wehre gonna to see if maybe just maybe it jumped the belt ... cuse it wouldnt start then. then if not i told them to check the CAS then the coolant temp sensor then the MPI Relay. u think maybe installing a system could of ####d the MPI relay up some how? we smelled a little gas but we couldnt find anything to plug my other friends fuel pressure gauge into to test it.im gonna make a list for the shop pppl to check over what all should i tell them to check beside the CAS and MPI relay and the coolant temp sensor? thanks guys.

edit- we both also swear when we where on our way home from gettin teh car we both swore the temp was goin down on the gauge ... like we stop for food got in the car and it was a lil over half on the temp gauge and after like 2.5 hrs it went down to maybe half way between 1/4 and 1/2... could that mean anything? thanks

Haha Ryan,

Trying to get some help around here eh? Dont trust these guys, none of them they are all DSM Newbits. JK, these people will help you out alot. That way you learn eh? Well yea get a list for them to check out. Also you just mentioned something about the temperature was going down huh. It is also possible that your CTS may be going bad or you may have some wiring problems going to the CTS. If the ECU does not get the right reading from the CTS it will not know how much fuel to spray into the engine since it needs to know what temperature the engine coolant is in a cold start. Get that checked out too.
