Now that I live in the Rockville area, I'll definitely come to this. I cannot wait.
 
I'm really happy to see all the names arriving on the list. The bigger this meet gets the better it is for all of us. Not to sound like an ass, but when 100 people sign up we usually expect about 70 people, just cause of things that happen whether it be the car, family, school, work, whatever. I just hope you all can make it, I look forward to seeing all your cars.

I have no idea where this is so I'd like to meet up with some people maybe from the Richmond area. More than likely I'll stay in Gloucester Friday night and be a bit closer to roll out Saturday morning. Maybe we could add next to our name where we are meeting at??? Example:

Hmm, I've never been to any and how come I've never heard of this before, being that I've been owning DSMs for the last...err...4'ish years. But at any rate. I'd definately like to attend, meet up some potentially non-asshole DSM owners from the area. Hopefully my DSM will be running.
 
Makes sense doug. I know as of right now there is a caravan from bel air, md i believe for people up north. Richmond dsmers/fredericksburg dsmers can meet somewhere off I-95. For the people out in western parts of va you may want to try and organize something in the front royal area since its pretty much a straight shot on I-66 i believe to DC area.

the pa dsmers are organizing a drive down. who ever is in charge of the pa dsmers try and get in contact with momojey, he is organizing the md dsmers drive down.
man i can't wait for this meet. its 2mos away and i'm already gettin giddy about it

It looks like so far I'm the only PA dsmer. If that's the case come time for the meet I'll drive down and meet up in Bel Air with the MD dsms. If we get a few more people from above md, We can meet up somewhere around the PA/MD border, maybe in Oxford or something. I already told all my friends about it, I'll be bringing at least a WRX and a GTi along. I will post this on phillydsm.com and see if any of them are interested.

I doubt you'll be the only pa dsmer coming down for it, last year there were 5-6 pa dsm's there I believe, they just showed up without warning so don't worry. you've got 2 months still so don't be worried about it yet.

That'll be great if you can help us out. Also I hear you're worried about if Mason will care that so many of us will be there and potentially having BBQ going. Maybe you remember us talking about this a little bit last year and how I had called Mason.

Mason does not mind that 100+ cars and people will be there. Lot K is huge first off....and second, it is a weekend. Like you've seen the past 2 years, the only thing that happens is the Mason police will roll through a couple of times just to check out the scene. As long as nothing illegal or stupid is going on, we don't need to worry about Mason "officials".

Basically in a nutshell, Mason has no outlines or procedures for events such as ours. Last year when I called, I talked to several different people in different departments that may have had an answer....but no one did. Finally, after enough of my harassment, the answer changed from "we don't know" to "we dont care".

nikki, i was more concerned about GMU caring about food being served vs. cars being there. It also seems that this year will be much bigger so i just want to make sure that once we are sitting there having a good time that we don't all get kicked out or anyone gets in trouble.

I did speak to Liam on the phone and we will be helping out the meet and hopefully Team Trinity. We had a good conversation and i think there alot of good things in store :thumb: :shhh:
 
Could we get any shops or stuff like that to maybe come out and show off their products? Would be great free advertisement(other than time) and would allow us DSMers to see their products in person. I know I like to see products in person before buying them.
 
How about a portable dyno :cool:

I think it would be cool to see some shops and their shop cars out there too sporting their products, free advertising and first hand observation of their goods.

Lets not go overboard. Im not sure GMU would not want a chassis dyno on their property with the liability involved.
 
I know there's alot of products out there that we won't see in use for a few months but if you think about it.... the gathering of this many DSM's should be enough show and tell to last you for a while. There's always someone out there that has something you've never seen before. And to top that you even get to see it in use and not just in a wrapper.

I think it's a good idea to have those show and tells like what Mach V has and such but this particular meet isn't one of those type events. We'll have fun don't worry about that.

You guys are on the right track.
Mason will have an issue with our presence if we start preparing food or have vendors attempt to "setup shop". (Insurance liabilities)
However; they will have no concerns or qualms with a meetup. Should we desire, we can always head over to Burke Lake Park (about 7 miles south on 123) after the meet for some fun and grub.

I'm going to start an "official caravan thread" for this event. Please post accordingly.
