I've had a MAFT + AVCR + SAFC + 3.5" MAF on my wife's Spyder for a few weeks now. All it gives me as far as the indicator lights is a dark green light and a blinking red light. The red light blinks twice... then goes dark.... then blinks twice etc.... I get nothing on the green light. I have version 2.0+ (not sure the exact rom version, I upgraded from 1.37.

Any ideas?

I'm assuming you don't have the manual/instructions cause it says on there that blinking red means some kind of error. I don't have my manual with me but I can look it up and possibly tell you what those blinks mean maybe later tonight or tomorrow.

Red light blinking means the MAF translator has internal trouble codes.

1 blink - no rpm signal
2 blinks - no MAF signal
3 blinks - internal flash memory problem
4 blinks- dial or switch problem
5 - internal program problem
6 - problem with saved settings
7 -unit detected a reset while engine was running
8 - internal flash memory reset

This is for a rev 2.01.

He is not talking about the rpm signal (which is optional, but much preferred) but about the maf signal which is a definate neccessity.

I'm having the same problem. Mine is blinking twice, then off, then twice, then off. Would my GM Maf be bad? Translator? My car is running really rich and have to have someone press the gas to keep it running. I can disconnect the translator and it runs just the same. I would look on the dsm translator forums but they're down. :(

I don't remember seeing it come on. The car is so rich that it'll die if someone isn't pressing in on the gas. There's a check engine light on but it's probably because I'm not using the stock O2. Just a wideband because the exhaust is so short (it stops right at the 1st bend in front of the oil pan).

Just wanna make sure it's the Maf before I go forking out money on one. I did disconnect the translator completely though without any changes in the way the engine ran.

Go check to make sure the green light is coming on ( it should be dim at anything over 1000rpm I believe.)

I think your not getting a Maf signal, which would call for the check engine light, so its basicaly like running the car with no air sensor at all, thus why your car is dumping fuel like crazy and not trying to run.

Well, at least this is speaking from my own experiences, I just recently setup a maf setup in my car and it did exactly like your mentioning now, I had a check engine light, with no green light coming on the translator, and then later on realized that one of the grounds to the maf wasnt connected, the spliced wire had came apart, but I didnt later realize that until I pulled the whole thing out to have a look at the wires.... My translator was/is mounted in the glove box.
