is it true that removing the silencer in the intake leans the engine, or does it just allow more air in? it seems like it would have to allow a lot more air in for the injectors to not keep up. in the same vein of questioning, how lean would one sub-par injector cause the engine to run? i flowed my injectors and one was about 10% off at 12 ms pulses, 11 or 12% off at shorter widths.

The silencer is actually sitting behind the MAS, so removing it will not lean it out because the air is still metered.

As for your second question, I am curious how do you flow your injectors?

i'm in an automotive engineering program at minnesota state university mankato. we have lotsa cool stuff to play around with like the injector machine, hydraulic lifts, and a new dyno (2 wheel unfortunately)

the injector machine lets you hook up injectors and flow solvent through them. you can vary the rpms and pulse widths to check operation of the injectors, and check the balancing by spraying each injector into it's own graduated cylinder and comparing the rates in each cylinder.
