I was finally able to put together some nice back to back runs since I switch to AEM and FP3575.

I had a pretty good day:

1. Dyno 528whp (FWD mode)
2. Set my highest ET and trap speed of 10.58 @138mph.
3. Reset my highest ET at 10.301 @ 140.43 (that is right 140mph!!! )
4. Won the most competitive Street Shootout class ever! (four 10 sec cars all in the semi-finals)
5. Reset my highest trap speed at 140.52

This was with relatively heavy 2870lbs car.

BTW dropping the cat back exhaust (leaving 3” down pipe and test pipe) gave me extra 3 MPH in the next run!!! This backs up similar results I had one year ago.

I am going to go back next Wed. with Mike Rizz’s Hoosiers and with light doors :).
 
OMG OMG Congratulations man! Those are some awesome times! I would think you would dyno more at the wheels, what boost was you running? Just curious, my cousin dynoed @ 607.8 whp@34psi on the FP 3565 last year, but never made it down the track.

.......that was a sick performance! And as I said on our board, the car sounds incredible, somewhat different than what I'm used to hearing out of a DSM. I would agree that single digits are in your future........Good Luck Wed. night.! Good to talk for a few minutes anyway, thanks for the pointers on where I should go with my upcoming configuration.

was that 10.30 pass you made was that made with nitrous or no..and if so what kind of shot were you spraying :dsm:
 
yeah Leon is a nut like that with his crazy low times without nitrous.

Gratz Leon the GM is a 10 second beast again... hahah by again i mean like for the 100th time depending on the turbo he uses.

Leon, how is tuning with the AMS? doing well with it?

well You are running a Slowboy Motor right? and didnt you run only 5 mph slower on a much smaller SBR GT-13 and only a VPC??? :confused:

Yep, “only” a stage 2, 2.0 motor and I am very happy with it!

GT-13 is also a fine turbo but I would hardly call it “much smaller” than my current turbo.

But I am also at the very beginning of learning AEM EMS, I only had it for 2 months (most which was spent troubleshooting a bad MAP sensor) and I have a LOT more to learn! This run was done with a very conservative 11.4-11.6 A/F ratio on C-16 race gas.

Well if you think its isnt much smaller here is a pic for those of you that understand the concepts of inducer/exducer ratios and sizes.. From left to right.. Just for comparison is the SBR GT-10. Middle is the SBR-GT 13 wheel, and on the right The "leon" turbo ... I think there is a significant size difference here. ;)

oh yea.. just a rumor .. i heard over 600WHP on our T-67 in our cast housing.. but i heard it was just a rumor :p

I see a lot of people focusing on this turbo, but the purpose of this thread was to praise “AEM’s magic” and not necessarily the turbo. So far, I am very happy with FP3575, but I do not feel like I have yet tapped its full potential…

Even though, I dynoed 528whp with the FP3575, I am guessing that I was closer to 550-560hp by the time I got to the track and dropped the exhaust. So I am definitely making MUCH more power on this turbo than I ever made on the GT-13. But I should be!

The real advantage of this turbo will not be utilized until I go well into 600-650hp range. And I am far from being there :(.
 
Congrats again Leon, How user friendly is the AEM, that will probably be my next modification. As far as the turbo goes if it where ball bearing I would be all over it. Look forward to seeing your next run with lighter doors and more tuning.
