That's the most common one. The best one is the Supra twin turbo pump. It makes significantly less noise than the Walbro pumps.

Now I'll get jumped on for whining about the noise. If I wanted a car that made a bunch of god-aweful racket I would have bought a Honda and put a huge tipped muffler on it and called it good.

Suggestion: find someone local with a Walbro pump and make sure that you're ok with the noise.

Im sure you would be fine with the 190, but if your actually gonna make that much power, it might be better to start with a 255 with an adjustsable fuel pressure reg.
I have a walbro 255 and the only time i hear it is at idle w/ no radio or heat/AC on. ---It's not that loud at all!!

does the 190 have the same problem with the noise ??? or can someone tell me a place to get a denso fuel pump cheep or the best price??

with all the fuel pumps do i need a fuel presure regulater ????

Unlike the 255lph which makes you run so rich that you loose power w/o S-AFC, would S-AFC be necessary with walbro 190lph? or ill be fine?

As long as you maintain the base fuel pressure at stock level (ie, the aftermarket fuel pump did not bump it up for you), you wont need an AFC. However, without an AFC, you cant do much tuning except turning up or lowering the boost or perhaps trick the ECU by removing the lower honeycomb.

ok guys this may sound dumb to some of yous wisemen...but i'm a newbie so bare with me. I was wondering if i got the Supra TT fuel pump with a SAFC will i still need to use a AFPR? In other words...can the SAFC some how lower my fuel presure if it goes to high with aftermarket pump? I don't think the SAFC could do this but i'll ask neway ....thanks guys.

You need the AFPR especially on the Supra pump.

Before AFPR was affordable (less than $150), people has been running Walbro 255s w/o AFPR but with an AFC and they worked. The AFC settings may look all messed up on the low rpm transistion to high rpm but the point is people did it. Best tuning? Perhaps not but since now the price of AFPR has come down tremendously it's just a thing you do while at it.

seems like people are always tryin to get out of getting a afpr.... if you dont want a afpr stick with the 190lph fuel pump.. anything higher YOU NEED a afpr

If you go with an afpr and a 255 pump what do you need to set the FP at? I am slowly doing mods and don't want to buy a 190 now and a 255 6 months from now. Thanks guys.

I am actually kind of excited to install this one. All I have modded before are Mustangs, and that means drain the tank, drop the tank, try to get it back in...etc... It is a real PITA. I could not believe it when I saw how you change it in a DSM!

It may not be as easy as you think it is. The installation VFAQ look simple enough. If you car is as old and corroded as mine, you wont say the same :D. The tube is so fragile it feels like it will break in a snap.

True, true...

I was thinking about taking the tank out when I did mine just to let you know how a PITA that was. Finally broke the tube coming out from the cover. JB weld the damn thing and got a replacement a week later.

I did some quick math a while back and if I remember correctly the 190 just barely outflows 550cc injectors, but I forget what pressure its flow tested at. Either way I have been running a 190 all along (ran 12.8 at 106 on stock pump) and it has done 11s with poeple that are real stingy :) IMO a t28 wont need more than a 190, and it will only need 550s if you are going for pump gas power and/or extra fudge factor.

I am using the walbro 255 hp and 660's on a stock fpr. Trust me you will need an AFPR. I am installing the aeromotive AFPR next weekend. I was fine with the 255hp with stock injectors and the 14b, and S-AFC.
