I'm getting 0 knock counts when I do a 3rd gear pull from 3k-6500rpms.

When I try a 4th gear pull though, I get about 12 counts of knock. What's the deal with this?

I also tried a log of 1st, 2nd, and through 3rd, and i got no knock.

It's only in 4th gear pulls.

I'd guess 5th gear too right?

As far as I've learned. The more load on the engine(higher gears) the more prone to knocking, hence the higher the gear, the more knock.

Too bad there wasn't something to tell your tuning device what gear you're in to adjust the fuel? That's just REALLY wishful thinking.

The other thing I would check is your base timing, make sure it's ok, and it should cure up a little bit of it.

Buy 94 octane.

Hope some of this helps you out. BTW: I have mine tuned so that on 91 octane, I knock about 6 counts in 5th gear, but I'm on 94 most of the time anyways.

Good luck.

nobody has 94 octane around here. I can only find 93 unless i got buy some race gas, but i'm trying to tune it on pump only. With my set up, i don't need race gas. I can run my desired psi of 20-25 with out it.

I checked my timing several times, i got it now at 5*BTDC (base)

Should I retard it to about 3* to help out the 4th gear, or would i lose power in 1st through 3rd gear due to retard?

The only other thing I would try is richening it up a bit. You said 12 counts? That's a little too much to drive with.

What I found...maybe you're not a dumbass like me, but I didn't ground the terminal when I timed my engine and it turned out to be WAY advanced. Make sure you've timed it right, as I'm sure you have, and maybe richen it up...or just don't go WOT in 4th and 5th(yeah right).
