Hi,

Does anyone have experience with this turbo, GT35R? If so, do you like it or not. Did you buy it as a turbo kit or single? From who would you recommend to purchase this turbo(kit)? What are the boost levels for street and strip?
I found a nice turbo kit from AGP for $2500. It comes with everything mention for the garret kits but with the GT35R and without a O2 housing. What do you think about it?
Thanks for the info.

What motor internals will you be going with to support this turbo?

Ok, I gotta go ice my hand from all that searching. Point, click, point, click, ahhhhh!

Hey...that second one is me

I was hell-bent on getting the GT35R, same kit you speak of from AGP, but I have opted for the non-bb 50 trim kit to last me the winter and next year I will upgrade to a high-flowing GT30R, probably a 60lb./min. model from AGP.

If you do get the GT35R kit, I highly recommend AGP. They are great there. I purchased my BJ's head/EMS from Nick there, my built short block from a customer of theres on AGP's advice (couldn't have been happier), and Nick, Ben, and Kevin all helped me decide on my fuel system choices, turbo choice for now and next year, and overall, they all rock down there.

I too would like to know what supporting mods you plan on running. The land of the GT35R is a path less taken, but highly rewarding with the right amount of work/money. :thumb:

Hi,

Thanks for the info.
It seems that I better wait until my 6 bolt is ready before I get the turbo. I was thinking first to run it with my stock 2G on low boost, until my 6 bolt is ready. And then swap everything. The setup I am looking at is JE pistons with crower or eagle rods, Jackson racing cylinder head II with FRH intake and 70mm throttle body, GT35R turbo kit from AGP, AEM EMS and other modifications.
If any advice please e-mail me or PM.

Thanks,

Sven

Right  A turbo using the same compressor wheel, but using the much smaller GT30 84trim turbine, in a tiny housing, will most deffinately outpower a GT35R. Hey they say so on thier site! :barf:

My thoughts exactly...the GT35R supports much more than 610hp :D

OWNED by wiseman, you saying they underrated their own turbos?

What he is saying is that a FP3065 and a GT35r are not the same turbo. Just because 2 turbos share the same compressor side, it does not mean their power output potential will be the same. The GT35r uses a bigger turbine wheel and housing and will make more peak power.

i run a pte gt35r bolt on and love it

The gt35r uses a different cartridge than the 30 series stuff, pte has a housing for the larger cartrdige also? Are you sure that you didn't get the same compressor that's in the 35r with the smaller turbine wheel? That's what most places are selling for their bolt on stuff.

700177-0014 and the GT35R both use the same compressor wheel and are both rated at 65 lb/min. Yes, the difference is in the turbine wheel size. Bigger turbine's typically mean bigger power, but at what cost?

99% of the people on this forum will never see the increase in power from one to another. Hence why people like the GT14 and 3065 style turbos.

The original post'r should look closer at the -14 CHRA.
