i was wondering if i could throw in some rc 550's without doing n e thing else. i am getting a good deal on the injectors and need to know if i could throw them in without hurting my car.

It's probably best if you wait til the last possible moment to put them in the car....usually when you're about to put a bigger turbo in or about to tune the car. Otherwise injectors really don't add anything special like horsepower....it's best to wait til you get an SAFC before putting them in though. Buy them, but hold onto them because you're gonna need them anyway.

so i can put them in at the same time as the safc and get better results? after i get the safc what would be the best ratio for the fuel/air mix. maybe i should ask that question i a different forum. that why im here in the newbie section, so i learn and not break my car. thanx for the info. oh, safc II or the safc I which is better. i can get a good deal on the I.

You have to tune the entire fuel curve after installing these. You can make a few minor adjustments just to get it driving about right, but the performance requires patience and practice...

where can i go to get the info on how to tune with the safc. i guess that i need a logger to, to find out what ratio is the best for my car .

You got it.

Datalogger + SAFC + Injectors

All at the same time, or logger and SAFC first. If you put in the injectors without anything else, you'll run pretty rich and it'll idle/run like crap.

Buy them and hold on to them. Use them later on.

Listen to the others, you can not use them properly without a control of some sort. You stock setup is set for the weaker injectors and will cause you to get:

Poor Gas mileage
Rich running condition
Shitty idle/ rpm will get lumpy

thanx for all the info guys. i am going to go ahead and get the safc I,the injectors, and then the only thing i will need is the datalogger. which i will get with my next check(the 30th). is there n e special way that it is suppose to setup or does it come pretty well tuned for a stock car. i will also get the walbro 190, since i heard that the walbro 255 is to much for a basically stock car unless you get the afpr to go with it. i might do that too. what is your opinion on that. walbro 190 or 255

eh, you should be alright with a 255 low pressure pump. I have one on right now and I don't notice any difference in performance. It may be running a little on the rich side, but if you plan on going with something bigger than a 16G in the future then you may as well save yourself the money and get a 255.

I am running the same type system as you and my next step after the new tranny is in is an AFPR. The thing we don't really see is the rich condition at idle and inbetween shifts. It is too much for the stock FRP. He will be fine for the time being, but it WILL overrun his FPR even at low pressure.
