Is something supposed to be connected here?

Was just curious because my alternator isn't charging the battery,

so that explains why my alternator isn't charging.

How big is the cable that goes there? I need to look for it. What type of plug also.

thanks again

It should be attached to the same bundle that the other connector comes from. The wire should be at least as thick as a pencil and terminated in a ring connector. You'll need the nut that fastens the wire on too. I don't see it in your picture.

What car is that alternator from?

BTW, that's usually called the B+ terminal

Steve

The picture was just to show what part I was talking about. My car just died on me the other day and after taking a look at it (the alternator) I noticed that there's nothing going to that stub.

Hmm... I always thought that wire was a ground; I'm stoopid.

It's not that big of a wire, but it's around there somewhere, or should be anyway.

it's a small wire right? I found one there that wasn't connected but I can't seem to slide it back onto that post

I found a wire that's bundled up with the 2 wires that plug into the alternator. It has a female end bullet connector on the end of it. Should I just try to put this wire there?
