- Background
- So, not having much money at all, I bought this project car from a guy. The Fuel Consumption Module is going out, and the guy was tired of working on it. Whoever had it in the past may have been on the right track with this car: Put a turbo on the 4G64 motor, modified the exhaust, even a bodykit (and color matched it!) Good start.
Then new guy buys it. Takes off the turbo and sells it. Deletes the power steering. Rips out the interior, down to bare metal, and paints absolutley EVERYTHING brake caliper red. Didn't even put everything back in. Somehow they found a red convertible top and put that on too, which was a miracle in the worst kind of way. Guy was going for Fast and Furious and missed it by miles. So he gave it to a friend, who I then buy it from.
So we've got a car with a failing module, no carpet, no center console, no driver door panel, no speakers, no radio, no power steering and random hoses/holes for a missing turbo that wasn't even supposed to be there. And of course, the very bright red everything. Oh, and no front bumper. Guy hit a turkey somewhere along the way.
Luckily, I found a '99 in the pull-it yard with a flawless and untouched interior. Probably because it's locked and no one could get in it haha. So the plan is to restore the car as much as possible and then modify it (correctly) along the way until it's something I can be proud of.
