    Background:
    I bought the car for $250 in 2003. I did a turbo swap in 2010 and and made it AWD in 2013. Along the way it has been daily driven, drag raced, autocrossed, rallycrossed, and road raced.

    Texas Mitsubishi Shootout
    My 14.4 @ 99.5 MPH run at the First Annual Texas Mitsubishi Shootout at San Antonio Raceway. My best ET of the day was a 14.3 @101.1 MPH. The car is a 1991 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS FWD with a 4G63t swap. First time on the track with this setup. Stock turbo, stock injectors, stock intercooler, full interior, street tires.


    Startup, Take 1
    The first startup of my non-turbo to turbo swap. 2.0l 4G63t 6 bolt with Wiseco 8.3:1 forged pistons, 6 bolt rods, ACL Race bearings, ARP head, main, and rod hardware, no balance shafts.

    Startup, take 1. It started up in the first crank. It ideled high at first, then started reving from about 600 rpms to 2,000 rpms. AFR was off the chart lean, switching from 17.9 to ---. CEL was on. Oil pressure good. I let it run for a while and then while I was checking things out under the hood I noticed the fuel was pouring out from the fuel inlet on the fuel rail. I shut it off right away.

    Turns out it was a torn o-ring. Also the vent line on the intake pipe was open so I routed it into the catch can. This would explain the erratic idle.

    The 19th Annual Buschur Racing DSM/EVO Shootout held Sunday, August 21, 2011 at the Summit Racing Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio. The DSM/EVO Shootout is the largest DSM/EVO gathering in the world and brings together some of the fastest 4 cylinder AWD cars on the planet.

    15 lbs of boost, FMIC, full 3" exhaust.

    Both 14b powered 1g DSMs.

    Ironically we both trapped 102 MPH but the AWD won by 1.2 seconds.

    Best 1/4 mile ET was 13.1 @ 110 MPH on 225/50R16 Hoosier Drag Radials at the El Paso Motorplex.

    Raced in the Pan AM Region SCCA Street Prepared (ESP) class on 225/45R17 BFG G-Force T/A KDWs at Cohen Stadium.

    Featured on the 2012 DSMtuners Calendar (August).

    Wow man, been a hell of a transformation. I admire your dedication. Also thanks for the great write-up on the equal length axle mod. I'm preparing to do this on my 91 talon Tsi, getting tired of all the torque steer. Maybe someday I'll attempt an AWD swap like yours.
