- Background
- When originally purchased, previous owner had put a ebay 16g on the car. Come to find out it had horrible shaft play. Also had many boost and exhaust leaks(he owns an auto shop and drove this daily). I have a 14b with hardly any noticeable shaft play that I recently installed just to run the car. I rewired the fuel pump for reliability reasons with an STM kit. I purchased this car originally because someone I work with had one, and they sounded like fun cars. Plus, it was a cheaper vehicle, and not too difficult to work on. Also, never had a AWD or a turbo car before and decided to try it out. So far it's been alot of work, but nothing that I haven't enjoyed. If all goes well, the car will be back on the road by November 2015 and daily driven. I have parts in the garage just waiting to be installed on the car whenever I get a 20g. Got a mishimoto radiator(non xline) and an ETS intercooler standing by for install, all I need for the fmic is a Tial bov and it'll be ready. With my ECMlink I also bought a GM maf cable and have a GM 3" maf standing by for install once the fmic is in place. The car is mostly stock at the moment except for a few things, and for how old it is, is in very good condition in and outside. My end goal for this car is to just be a street build(obviously) so that it's a fun daily, but also to be able to take it to the track every once in a while to see what she can do. Overall I love these cars, and hopefully my wife will allow me to get a 2g or even another 1g later down the road. Currently it's on ramps waiting for me to install the exhaust and downpipe, and to be filled with coolant and an oil change. Then tune it and hit the road with it.
